Web development

Custom features and integrations when an off-the-shelf plan isn't enough.

Long exposure light trails streaking along a dark road at night, in orange, white and blue.

Every site we build starts with a short design pass and a mobile-first layout, so you can see the direction and ask for changes early, before anything is built. Most small business sites fit one of our fixed plans. Some don't, a booking system tied to your calendar, a members' area, a catalogue that syncs with other software, or an integration with a tool you already rely on. That's what this service covers: scoped, quoted work on top of a website plan, built by the same team that will be maintaining it.

Read the full details

We start with a short discovery conversation to understand what the feature needs to do and who uses it, then come back with a fixed quote rather than an open-ended hourly estimate. Because it's built on the same Next.js foundation as our standard plans, custom work doesn't lock you out of future changes, it's still your site, still easy for us (or another developer) to pick up later. We're upfront when something is better solved with an existing tool than custom code, and we'll say so rather than building something bespoke for the sake of it. Typical projects include booking and availability systems, members-only areas with login, product catalogues that sync stock from another system, and one-off integrations with the software you already run day to day, accounting, CRM, or a booking platform. Once the feature is live, it's covered by the same hosting and support as the rest of your plan, so you're not left managing a separate piece of infrastructure or a second invoice for keeping it running. Need to sell online? Our Gold website plan includes a full online shop with product and category pages, secure checkout, stock management and e-commerce SEO, managed through the same CMS as the rest of your site, so most shops don't need a separate project. Anything beyond that, such as subscriptions, large catalogues that sync with stock software or custom checkout rules, is scoped here as a fixed-quote project on top of the plan.

Timeline

How it works

About two months, typically.

  1. Week 1

    Discovery

A call to understand what the site needs to do and who it is for.

  2. Week 2

    Scope and fixed quote

We agree exactly what is being built and give you a fixed price.

  3. Weeks 3-6

    Build

We build it, with design by our design partner, and you see progress as it comes together.

  4. Weeks 6-8

    Revisions and handover

Final changes, launch, and a walkthrough of how to edit your site.

Goals and requirements can change, and availability can affect this timeline.

FAQ

Questions

How long does a new website take?
About two months, typically: a discovery call in week 1, scope agreed in week 2, around a month to build, then handover and revisions in weeks 6-8. It depends on how quickly we get your content and feedback.
Do I need to provide the content and images myself?
You know your business best, so we ask you for the basics (copy, photos, logo), but we'll help shape it into something that reads well and we can source stock imagery if you don't have your own photos.
How is custom development priced?
We scope the feature in a short discovery call, then come back with a fixed quote before any work starts, so there are no open-ended hourly surprises.
Can you add custom features to a site you didn't build?
Sometimes, it depends on the platform. If it's built on a modern, maintainable stack we can usually take it on; if it's heavily locked into a page builder, we'll be upfront about the better path.
Which payment providers do you support?
On the Gold website plan we integrate with established, secure payment providers so your checkout is PCI-compliant without you handling card data directly: we'll recommend the best fit for your business during setup.
Can I manage products myself once the shop is live?
Yes, products, prices, and stock are managed through the same content system as the rest of your site, so day-to-day updates don't need a developer.
